What to do in Vancouver During the Summer

FlyOver at Canada Place

Canada Place is a Vancouver landmark situated within the harbor that is designed to resemble a large ship and is home to Vancouver’s must-see attraction FlyOver Canada. FlyOver Canada is a flight simulation ride like no other, complete with a huge screen equipped with the latest projection and ride technology. Soar across Canada from coast to coast in a fully immersive ride complete with wind, scents, and mist. A pre-show before the main attraction gives guests an insider’s look at the captivating areas, people, and cultures featured in FlyOver Canada’s films. This is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Whale Watching

Vancouver is the best place in Canada to spot magnificent whales. Summer is high season for grey whales, orcas, and even humpbacks, all just a quick catamaran ride from downtown Vancouver. There are multiple companies that offer this activity, with some including onboard naturists, educational material, drinks, and snacks. There are very few major cities that offer you the chance to see these incredible animals, so this is a must do in Vancouver during the summer.

Kitsilano Beach

Also knows as “Kits”, this beach is one of the most beautiful and popular in Vancouver. It is one of the best beaches for sports with volleyball nets, basketball hoops, and tennis courts. Kitsilano beach is also home to a 137-meter-long swimming pool: Canada’s largest. In addition to the pool and large sandy beach, there are also many wide-open grassy areas where visitors can hang out or picnic.

Pacific National Exhibition

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is an annual Vancouver fair that has been running for over 100 years and takes place the last three weeks of the summer. The exhibition has multiple activities for people of all ages including many different rides, shows, farm animals, games, and concerts. The PNE requires tickets and must be purchased before your visit.

Vancouver has a large variety of activities available during the summer. The weather is beautiful during the summer months and residents love to take advantage of it by getting outside and experiencing the many things the city has to offer.
