What to do this Victoria Day weekend in Vancouver?

Canada celebrates Queen Victoria’s Birthday every year by making the third Monday in May an official holiday. The three-day weekend is known for being Canada’s unofficial Summer Kick Off! To keep the party going all weekend long, we’ve listed the best events in Vancouver for you.

1- Castle Fun Park

Feel like taking a short trip out of the city? This Fraser Valley hot spot is definitely the place to go if you want to have a good time. With over 200 arcade games, from old school Pac-Man to cutting-edge virtual-reality games, it’s impossible to get bored!

When: Every day, 10:00 AM to Midnight.

Where: 36165 North Parallel Road, Abbotsford.

 

2- Victoria Day at Victoria Park

Why not celebrate Queen Victoria at a park named after her majesty! This year you can look forward to supporting the ‘Child Poverty Then and Now’ events happening at the park. Free entertainment available.

When: May 21, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Where: 1425 Victoria Drive.

 

3- Vancouver Comic Arts Festival

"Wolverine" Chalk Magic

Two days packed with comedy and mayhem from local and global artists! Kid’s art lessons will be part of the fun.

When: May 20 to 21, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Where: Roundhouse Community Centre, 181 Roundhouse.

4- Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair

At a smalltown rodeo (28)

Only 35 minutes away from Vancouver with public transportation, you’ll find one of North America’s longest running rodeos. Discover your inner cowboy or cowgirl with competitions, food and live entertainment for fans of all ages.

When: May 19 to 22

Where: Cloverdale Fairgrounds, 6050 176th St., Surrey.
