ILAC Donates $2,500 to the 2016 Toy Mountain Drive

Thousands of children around Canada will wake up to a present on Christmas morning thanks to the 2016 Toy Mountain campaign, an initiative created to bring a smile to the faces of children from families in need.

The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau visited the Distillery District to attend the Toy Mountain Drive at the Toronto Christmas Market, showing his support and sharing his thoughts on this great initiative, kicking up the holiday season.

Among the childhood stories Prime Minister Trudeau shared, there was one that really hit the mark. “Early on when I was a kid…my father really impressed on us how incredibly lucky we were, and that we had to make sure that we were doing everything we could to give back”.

“Giving feels better than receiving,” said Alexa Kolber, Jonathan Kolber’s 8-year-old daughter after handing a plush Unicorn she picked to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) joined the cause by making a donation of $2,500 to the Toy Mountain Drive, contributing to Prime Minister Trudeau’s goal of collecting 150,000 toys for children in need this Holiday season.

Jonathan Kolber, his wife Geraldine and their daughters Alexa and Talia were very proud to meet Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The Kolber family has a long history with the Trudeau family, going back to the 1970’s when Jonathan’s cousin Leo Kolber was the chief fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada and close friend of Former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. In 1983, Leo Kolber was appointed to the Senate of Canada on the advice of Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Leo Kolber remains a close friend and supporter of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
