ILAC Partners with Air Canada to Support International Student Travel to Canada

Press Release

The ILAC Education Group and Air Canada have signed a joint agreement to support international student travel to Canada. All ILAC students with a valid study permit are now eligible for a 15% discount on any international Air Canada flight to Toronto or Vancouver.

The partnership with Air Canada, the largest domestic and international airline, serving six continents, will significantly help international students who are planning to come to Canada. To be eligible for the discount, students must be registered to study at one of the following ILAC schools: International Language Academy of Canada, ILAC International College, Georgian@ILAC, Sterling College or Canadian Tourism College.

“ILAC has been on the approved DLI list since October 2020 and since then we have received over 500 international students,” says Jonathan Kolber, CEO of ILAC. “We have been working very hard to safely reopen our campuses so that students can achieve their dreams of studying, working and immigrating to Canada.”

Despite new restrictions recently announced for air travellers coming into Canada, ILAC continues to receive applications for new classes starting every week. Currently, ILAC Vancouver is open for in-person classes and ILAC Toronto is waiting for a reopening decision from the provincial government.

“This has been a challenging year for international student mobility as flights, borders and schools have not been fully open,” says Kolber. “We are very optimistic that 2021 will see a big rebound for student travel to Canada.”

“The student traffic has been consistent throughout the pandemic, we know students prefer Air Canada for its bio-safety and reliability records and we are very pleased to partner with ILAC and offer a discount to help offset some of the increased costs of testing and quarantine requirements during this time,” says Virgilio Russi, Vice-President International Sales at Air Canada.

The Air Canada promotional rate is valid for travel until September 30, 2021. All flights must be booked by June 30, 2021 on www.aircanada.com or with an Air Canada approved travel agent.
