ILAC-TRU International Year One Program Now Approved by PTIB in BC

The exclusive ILAC-TRU International Year One program, which provides international students with a pathway to their studies at university, is now approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training in British Columbia. “The ILAC-TRU International Year One program is a signature 2019 program,” says Jonathan Kolber, Co-Founder of ILAC. “We have created opportunities for international students to transition more easily into the BC University and college system.  This program is unique in Canada and only available through ILAC.”

The newly approved program allows international students with an IELTS score of 5.5 to take first-year university courses* at ILAC Vancouver. “ILAC and TRU have created a new model for university-bound international students to be able to benefit from taking both intensive language training and well-selected university year 1 courses at the same time and location. It will be a challenging and exciting journey for the learners, but after completion, the learners’ advantages are obvious, too,” says ZiPing Feng, Director of International Recruitment and Marketing at TRU World.

Students have the option of the eight-month course with ILAC, comprising of two semesters and 15 academic credits. The credits earned with the TRU OL courses are transferable to most Universities in BC and Canada.

“The ILAC – TRU International Year One program provides students the opportunity to enter the academic world faster than ever,” says Diana Mockute, Director, Strategic Pathways and Partnerships, ILAC. “The custom-designed joint program reflects the strong pathway partnership between language schools and a post-secondary institutions by allowing students to take university courses on the ILAC campus.”
