ILAC recently sponsored the “10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians” award gala, hosted by the Honourable Michael Coteau and the Honourable David Peterson at the Distillery Historic District on July 16, 2015. The Prime Minister of Canada sent official greetings.
Since 2007, the event has recognized 70 Hispanics from eight provinces and 15 countries of origin. ILAC’s Director Bernardo Riveros was honoured in 2012 by the Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations.
ILAC Executive Director Ilan Cohen, who represented ILAC onstage, said “Every time we help Hispanic students learn English and reach their goals, we do it with excellence and passion to help them succeed. We are proud to support this event and to sponsor the achievements of Hispanics in Canada”.
