ILAC Signs a Historic Deal with Oxford University Press

ILAC signs a historic deal with Oxford University Press* to customize and publish English books tailored to the unique needs of ILAC’s international students.

“Oxford is thrilled to be working with ILAC, one of the largest and most prestigious language schools in Canada. ILAC is well known for the quality of education and service it delivers. We are excited to be working with this multiple award-winning school,” Julie Wade, E/LT Director for OUP Canada, said.

The custom-published books for ILAC’s General English program will be based on the very popular English File series. In addition to teaching the 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and high-interest content, this series incorporates grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation in each lesson. Oxford will also publish custom books for the ILAC Academic Pathway program. The Oxford EAP books offer an integrated approach to teaching English for Academic Purposes with authentic content from Oxford textbooks.

Moreover, OUP will be providing ongoing professional development training for ILAC teachers. “Oxford is a globally recognized organization for the quality of resources they publish. ILAC is excited to merge that resource quality with the ILAC educational knowledge and expertise,” Jonathan Kolber, ILAC Executive Director, said.

Textbooks are expected to be available in ILAC bookstores by January 2016.
