ILAC: MORE THAN A BUILDING

“Thanks to our staff and teachers, we are not only surviving but thriving.” – Jonathan Kolber

Two weeks ago, 920 Yonge Street experienced a fire that destroyed the building’s electrical equipment. City officials are still working on fixing the damage and trying to restore power. ILAC’s main building campus, along with other businesses and tenants, had to quickly find a solution as approximately 400 students, 35 classrooms and 40 staff member were evacuated.

From working overtime hours, to moving entire classrooms from building to building, offering round the clock streams of communication and make-up classes, to providing dinner each day to those now in afternoon classes, we are doing everything to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.

And things are running smoothly. All classes have resumed. Smiling faces abound in classrooms and laughter echoes through our hallways. There may be a few more bumps in the road ahead, but after the response to the current situation, we know there is nothing we can’t accomplish together.

We are more than a building, more than a physical space. We are a community. A dedicated team who’ve bonded even more solidly to form a stable foundation that no disaster can touch – all dedicated to providing the best service possible for our clients. We have always known that we possess this spirit of quality and excellence in our staff and teachers and it’s only just become even more apparent these past few weeks.

We have so many people to thank from the bottom of our hearts: our incredible staff and teachers, our supportive partners and agents, and our phenomenal students.

Your kindness, generosity and patience amaze us all.

Our character has been forged from the fire. The events at 920 Yonge Street have blown up all our expectations, and as the dust settles, we see a new company rising from the ashes. Revived and refreshed with innovation and inspiration.

We are humbled.
