Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish to be Key Note Speaker at ILAC Red Carpet Gala

Dr. Izzeldin AbuelaishILAC is honoured to announce that the renowned author and peace activist, Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, will be the keynote speaker at the ILAC Red Carpet Gala Event in Toronto on April 25th.

Dr. Abuelaish is a leading advocate on the world stage for human rights and education for women.

Known as “the Gaza Doctor,” Dr. Abuelaish is the author of the best-selling book I Shall Not Hate, which describes his life growing up in Gaza and his dream of peace throughout the world.  He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and has received numerous awards for his contribution to ending the violence in the Middle East.

In 2009, Dr. Abuelaish became famous around the globe when his three daughters were killed in an Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip, just minutes before he was to appear on Israeli TV.  Despite his tragic loss, Dr. Abuelaish continued to advocate for peace in the region, turning his personal grief into a public call to action.

In memory of his daughters, Dr. Abuelaish created The Daughters for Life Foundation, a charity that promotes leadership development, health, and education for girls and women in the Middle East.
