TESOL Program Requirements
Applicants must also complete an oral screening interview with the Program Manager either in person or over the phone.
ILAC TESOL Diploma (recognized by TESL Canada) requirements
» University Degree Requirements - Applicants without a university degree can be accepted if they have "senior matriculation", but they will not qualify for TESL Canada professional certification
» English Requirements - Non-native speakers must submit official documentation for one of the following:
- TOEFL - CBT 213/PBT 550, with TWE 5 (recommend 5.5) and TSE 55 (recommend 60)
- TOEFL iBT 80 overall with a min. score of 20 in each area
- IELTS - 6.5 overall
- MELAB - 85/ with a speaking test score 4
- Can Test Listening, reading, writing 5, Speaking 4.5
- CAEL Band 60 overall, with a min. of 60 in each of the writing & speaking subtests
- High school graduation from a high school in Canada, including minimum English Grade 12 score of 70%
- Completion of an undergraduate degree from an English-speaking university
- Common European Framework C1
- Canadian Language Benchmarks CLB 9 in each area
