The Pathways UPDATE: What do you think about ILAC’s University Pathway Programs?

Jongjoo: At first I did not realize how useful the pathway program would be for me. I was so concerned what programs would be the best fit for my academic career. The Pathways department assisted and counseled me along the way with university program choices and processes. I was so happy to find a department at ILAC where all my questions were answered.

The Pathways UPDATE: What do you think about the Pre-Degree Program (ILAC’s English for Academic Purposes)?

Jongjoo: I think the Pre-Degree Program was very beneficial for me. It’s a longer preparation and very intense, I learned skills that I’ll use at university.

The Pathways UPDATE: Do you feel your teacher is knowledgeable in academic English teaching?

Jongjoo: Yes, she is. Our teacher is very experienced .We concentrate on essay writing (lots and lots of them) preparing presentations in Powerpoint, presenting them in front of the class. She also teaches us how to write a research paper. We form discussion/debate groups and discuss topics with my classmates. I think it also helps us improve our English speaking skills, interpersonal skills. My self-confidence has visibly improved, as have my writing skills and vocabulary. I can communicate with my classmates very easily and I feel great about it.

The Pathways UPDATE: Would you recommend ILAC’s Pre-Degree Certificate Program to your friends?

Jongjoo: Most definitely. My academic career path has changed beyond my expectations, thanks to ILAC. As an international student, I really appreciate the opportunity to study here. The helpful staff, especially, ILAC’s Pathway Director Ally Ahu, was available to help me every step of the way with my study options and career counseling. I will recommend ILAC to all my friends.
