WHAT’S UP
At ILAC, learning English goes beyond the classroom. The English-Only Policy is one step in ensuring that all students keep improving their English outside class. This way, the learning process becomes much easier and faster.

Besides having a great group of educators, ILAC has an administrative staff that is always up to helping students to improve their communication skills. They walk around the corridors, cafeteria and student lounge to ensure that students are respecting the rules.

As an incentive to students, the staff uses “Thank You for Speaking English” cards (known as ‘blue cards’). These cards record the student’s name, and are placed into a box for a weekly draw. Three students win a free activity every week for simply speaking English.

Thanks for Speaking English Blue Card

For those students that don’t cooperate with the English-Only Policy and insist on speaking their native language, there is the ‘yellow card’. The first yellow card works as a warning. If a student receives a second Yellow Card, a staff member brings the student from the classroom and to the director’s room where the student may get suspended for a day. A third yellow card works the same way, but may result in a call to the student’s parents or agent to inform them of the situation.

Yellow Card

ILAC is committed to its students and always strives to provide them with excellent education. Customer Service is our number one priority, and staff members do their best to provide students with a good environment to learn English. Students can also improve their communication skills through the schedule social activities and by living with a Homestay family.
